After careful consideration of the ongoing spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus), the Florida Association for Water Quality Control’s (FAWQC) Board of Directors has decided to cancel FAWQC’s 2020 Annual Conference in Naples, Florida scheduled for June 17-19, 2020.

FAWQC has been monitoring the coronavirus situation with the health, safety, and well-being of our guests in mind. The FAWQC Board of Directors arrived at this difficult decision after consulting with conference planners, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, and other conference participants, and gathering information from the Centers for Disease Control and other public health authorities. Ultimately, the rapidly escalating health concerns regarding the coronavirus, and ongoing travel and other restrictions made it impossible for us to hold the conference in June 2020.

We urge those who were planning to attend the conference to expedite flight and hotel cancellations. Contact the hotel directly to cancel your room reservation. 2020 Annual Meeting registration fees will be fully refunded. You will receive an email confirming your refund has been processed by the end of April 2020.

We are looking into holding a virtual conference over the summer months. This would be a way for you to stay up to date on water quality issues and earn CEUs. Our annual conference typically has six sessions, so one idea is to hold six separate virtual conference sessions. We will keep you posted as we formalize our plans. Let us know what you think at

Our bylaws state that we hold an annual member meeting. Election of officers and board members takes place during the member meeting. We typically hold this meeting in Naples just prior to the annual conference. We are looking into holding a virtual member meeting. We will keep you posted.

We plan to be back in Naples, Florida in June 2021 to hold our 2021 annual conference.
